Glasgow’s child population has dropped substantially in the last 30 years, by over 50,000.  From 2011 to 2019 the number of children in the city grew modestly, but since 2019, there have been two years of downward trends. Just less 100,000 children are living in the city, currently.

The proportion of children in Glasgow’s population has reduced steadily in the last 40 years.  In 1981, 21% of Glaswegians were children but by 2021 this had dropped to 15.7%.
