Compared to other local authority areas in the Glasgow City Region in 2019, Glasgow had a higher proportion of children living in households that reported experiencing financial difficulties (19%) than Renfrewshire (5%), East Dunbartonshire (6%), East Renfrewshire (9%), North Lanarkshire (12%), South Lanarkshire (12%) and West Dunbartonshire (16%). There was no figure released for Inverclyde in 2019.

Definition of dependent children in the Scottish Household Survey is children aged 0-15 years and children of 16-18 years who are in full time education. 

These data come from the Scottish Household Survey. They have not been updated for 2020, since the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic meant a change in methods for the survey. The results are therefore not comparable with previous years. More details on these changes can be found on the SHS site. This page will be updated when data for 2021 are available.
