Glasgow and Clyde Valley

In SALSUS 2013, secondary schoolchildren who reported that they had previously had an alcoholic drink were also asked how many times they had been drunk.

Among 13-year old pupils in Glasgow, 6% of boys and girls reported that they had been drunk more than 10 times. These proportions are comparable with the other local authorities in the Glasgow and Clyde Valley area, apart from Inverclyde where numbers are very low.

The Scottish Schools Adolescent Lifestyle and Substance Use Survey (SALSUS) is part of a long established series of national surveys on smoking, drinking and drug use. The survey is conducted on a biennial basis, targeting secondary school pupils in local authority and independent schools.
