Glasgow and Clyde Valley

The proportion of secondary schoolchildren in Glasgow who reported that they have previously taken drugs is similar to the other local authorities in the Clyde Valley area. In Glasgow more boys (14%) than girls (10%) reported that they have taken drugs, a similar pattern to that seen in the other local authorities in the Clyde Valley area.

 The Scottish Schools Adolescent Lifestyle and Substance Use Survey (SALSUS) is part of a long established series of national surveys on smoking, drinking and drug use. The survey is conducted on a biennial basis, targeting secondary school pupils in local authority and independent schools.
