The child population across Glasgow’s 56 neighbourhoods varies considerably. In 2021, there were only 137 children living in Carmunnock, while there were 3,308 children living in Baillieston & Garrowhill.

Although overall children make up 16% of Glasgow's population, the concentration of children within each of Glasgow's neighbourhoods varies considerably.  In 2021, 6% of the overall population in the City Centre and Merchant City were children, while nearly a quarter of the overall population (24%) in Drumchapel were children.
