Children living in family with a disabled adult
Children living in a family with a disabled adult are one of the groups identified by Save the Children (Severe Child Poverty: An Update) as being most at risk of severe poverty.
The proportion of children living in households with working age adults, where at least one adult had a disability, was slightly higher in Glasgow (24%) than the Scottish average (21%) in 2015. The Glasgow figure was also higher than estimates for Edinburgh (17%) and Dundee (23%), but was the same as the estimate for Aberdeen (24%).
Notes
The definition of dependent children used in the Scottish Household Survey is children aged 0-15 years and children of 16-18 years who are in full time education.
