Business start-ups per 10,000 adults in selected Scottish cities, 2010-2018

Since 2010, the rate of business start-ups relative to population size has been higher in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow than in Dundee and than in Scotland as a whole. The rate of business start-ups in Glasgow has decreased slightly since 2016, from 63.7 start-ups for every 10,000 adults in 2016 to 58.4 start-ups for every 10,000 adults in 2018.
Note
Business start ups are measured using VAT/PAYE registrations which are published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
