The tenure of dwellings in Glasgow differs by neighbourhood.
Owner Occupation
In 2018, the Robroyston and Millerston had the highest level of owner-occupied housing in the city and Sighthill, Roystonhill and Germiston had the lowest. The neighbourhood average rate of owner occupation in the city was 45% in 2018.

Private Renting
In 2018, the City Centre & Merchant City area had the highest level of privately-rented housing in the city and Drumchapel had the lowest. The average rate of private renting in the city was 20% in 2018. Levels of private renting have risen across Glasgow over the last decade.

Social Renting
In 2018, Sighthill, Roystonhill and Germiston had the highest level of social rented housing in the city and Robroyston and Millerston had the lowest. The average rate of social renting in the city was 36% in 2018.

Social renting is renting from a Registered Social Landlord and, in Glasgow, the majority of these are housing associations.
