Domestic Abuse Victims by age and gender, Strathclyde
The chart illustrates the number of victims of domestic abuse in the Strathclyde area for 2011/12. Domestic abuse victimisation increases significantly between 16 and 19 years of age, with the 21 to 30 years age group accounting for 35% of all domestic abuse incidents. In terms of a gender, female victims account for 75% of all domestic abuse incidents. There were 830 victims under 18 years of age accounting for 4% of all domestic abuse incidents. This figure has increased from the previous year when 459 persons in this age group were reported to have been involved in domestic abuse, the equivalent of 2% of all incidents.
