Children in households with financial difficulties

Estimated percentage of children living in households that are 'not managing financially'- Scottish cities- 2023

In 2023, 25.7% of households with dependent children in Glasgow reported they don’t manage well financially. This figure was higher than in Aberdeen (11.3%) and Edinburgh (9.9%) and more than double the Scottish average of 12.2%. Data for Dundee was not available for the financial difficulties question for the Scottish Household Survey.

Note

The definition of dependent children used in the Scottish Household Survey is children aged 0-15 years and children of 16-18 years who are in full time education.
