The chart above illustrates the trend of recorded domestic abuse incidents crime from 2003/04 to 2011/12. Despite fluctuations within years, there is clearly an upward trend in recorded domestic abuse incidents in Glasgow.

During this time, from 2003/04 to 2011/12, there were approximately 269 incidents (with children present) recorded on average each month. Approximately 14% of all domestic abuse incidents are recorded as having children present.

Notes

The upward trend in domestic abuse incidents may, in part, be due to improved detection and recording, and therefore may not reflect a real increase in incidents of domestic abuse.
