- Glasgow had just under 300,000 households in 2023, and the number of households had increased by 26,000 (10%) since 2001 and it is estimated that this will rise to 328,229 households by 2043.
- In 2018, 44% of Glasgow's households were single adults, and a further 7% were single parents.
- 73% of Glasgow's households live in flats, but this varies by neighbourhood within the city.
- In 2022,17% of households in the city rented privately, whilst 33% were in social rented households and 48% were owner occupied.
- Just over a quarter of houses in Glasgow were in urgent need of repair in 2016-18.
- 6,199 households were assessed as homeless in Glasgow in 2023/24 – these households were made up of 7,081 adults and 2,591 children.
- Around a quarter of households in Glasgow were in fuel poverty in 2017-19.
