Glasgow City Region
Glasgow had the lowest proportion of individuals in owner-occupied housing (48.1%) in the Glasgow City Region, while East Renfrewshire (85.5%) had the highest. There is a similar pattern looking at people who own their properties outright (i.e., do not have a mortgage) – 19.5% of people in Glasgow owned their houses outright, compared to 37.8% in East Dunbartonshire.
Glasgow had the highest percentage of indiviudals in privately-rented housing (16.8%), and East Dunbartonshire had the lowest (5.4%). Social renting was also higher in Glasgow – 32.7% of the population lived in social-rented accommodation, compared to only 7.8% in East Renfrewshire.
