School based educational attainment, as measured by the percentage of school leavers with awards at SCQF level 5 or above, has improved in Glasgow and across all the local authorities in the Glasgow City Region since 2009/10. Attainment levels in East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire are the highest in the region for this measure, while most of the other authorities lie close to the Scottish average. Glasgow, despite a steady rise in this measure of pupil performance, still has the lowest proportion of school leavers achieving this level of attainment in the region.

Notes

SCQF stands for the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF), which brings together different sets of qualifications into one comprehensive and integrated framework. SCQF classifies various Scottish educational qualifications within comparable ‘levels’. Level 5 includes Standard Grades credit level.
