The percentages of children referred to the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration (SCRA) in Glasgow, and nationally, follow a similar pattern over the time period from 2003/04 to 2017/18.  The percentage of children referred gradually increased until 2006/07, but since then there has been a steady reduction.

Glasgow had a consistently higher percentage of referrals to SCRA than Scotland as a whole until 2017/18.  Glasgow has also seen a greater decrease in the rate of referrals since 2003/04 (84% lower in 2017/18 compared to a 70% reduction across Scotland during the same time period).

Notes

It should be noted that referral levels between different local authorities are impacted by pre-referral screening and the implementation of "Getting it Right for Every Child".
