The rate of young adults aged 16-19 years old not in employment, education or training varied considerably by neighbourhood in Glasgow. Less than 3% of 16-19 year olds in City Centre and Merchant City are not in employment, education or training compared to almost a quarter in Ruchill and Possilpark.

Further information on neighbourhoods in Glasgow are available in our profile section.

These estimates are based on data from a School Leavers Destinations publication and the Department for Work and Pensions. The combination of these sources is likely to underestimate the number of 16-19 year olds not in employment, education or training by approximately 20-25%. Please see the Scottish Government report that was the source of these estimates for further information.
