Almost two thirds (64%) of households in Glasgow reported that they were managing well financially in 2021. This was the same as the Scottish average, but was a lower rate than that recorded for Aberdeen or Edinburgh (both 70%). Of the cities shown, Dundee had the lowest proportion of people reporting that they were managing well financially (53%).

Notes

The dates shown here mainly predate the cost of living crisis, and so it is not yet known what impact that will have had on people's responses to this survey question.

These data come from the Scottish Household Survey. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic meant a change in methods for the survey, and the results are therefore not comparable with previous years. More details on these changes can be found on the SHS site.
