The chart above illustrates the distribution of recorded victims of violent crime across Glasgow City and the rest of Strathclyde in 2011/2012. Victimisation increases rapidly between 14 and 24 years of age with victims aged between 17 and 25 years of age accounting for 31% of all victims in the Glasgow area. The proportion of victims under 18 years of age was 13% in Glasgow City and 16% in the rest of Strathclyde.

Notes

Strathclyde covers a wide region of the West of Scotland.  Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and is situated within Strathclyde. Glasgow has the greatest concentration of population within the region.
