In 2018, Glasgow recycled around 25% of its household waste, which is considerably less than the other three major Scottish cities.

In 2014, a new methodology for calculating the household waste recycling rate was employed. As a result, from 2014, household waste composted and diverted from landfill that did not reach the quality standards set by PAS 100/110 has not been included in the recycling figures.

Further information on household waste recycling is available on the SEPA website.
