Glasgow’s child population has dropped substantially in the last 30 years, by over 50,000.  In recent years the children's population has stabilised and grown slightly. In 2018, there were close to 100,000 children living in the city.

The proportion of children in Glasgow’s population has also reduced.  In 1981, 21% of Glaswegians were children but by 2018 this had dropped to 16%.
